Oxcarbazepine is an anti-epileptic drug. it is used to treat partial seizures.
It inhibits the abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
It blocks the nerve impulses that causes serious pain and seizures

Mechanism of Action
It blocks the sodium channels. it prevents the opening and closing of nerve impulses and propagation of action potential in the neuron
epilepsy is the condition where there is excessive firing of neurons.
It also inhibits the glutamatergic activity and enhances the overexcitation of neurons.
It also increases conductance of potassium and modulation of voltage gated calcium channels.

It is mainly bound to albumin i.e. 40%

It undergoes glucuronidation
